Software Download & Information

This page includes download links and instructions for the most recent version of our software tools. For a complete revision history and change log, see our Software Revision Log. Not sure what software version you currently have? As of revision 1.7.0 (April 2024), software information can be found in LabMaestro > Help > About. In older versions of our software, the rev command in the VPutil command line utility will provide version information.

MATLAB API users, please follow the Matlab Integration Guide for specific instructions on installing and configuring the necessary components.

Python API users, please refer to the Python Integration Guide for specific instructions on installing the required packages and setting up the environment.

Windows

We currently support all versions of Windows 10.

To install VPixx device drivers and software tools on Windows, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the setup.exe file from the provided link.

  2. Locate the downloaded setup.exe file and double-click on it to launch the installer.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation process.

  4. Once the installation is complete, you can find the VPixx device drivers and software tools in the C:\Program Files\VPixx Technologies folder.

  5. Install our MATLAB and Python APIs if desired. See install your DATAPixx.mex file for MATLAB and install pypixxlib for Python.

macOS

We currently support macOS 10.14 and above, including macOS 11 (Big Sur).

To install VPixx device drivers and software tools on Mac, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the .dmg file from the provided link.

  2. Locate the downloaded .dmg file and double-click on it to mount the disk image.

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the VPixx software tools.

  4. Once the installation is complete, you can find shortcuts to the VPixx software tools in your Applications folder.

  5. The files related to VPixx devices will be located in the /Library/Application Support/VPixx Technologies/Software Tools/ directory.

  6. Install our MATLAB and Python APIs if desired. See install your DATAPixx.mex file for MATLAB and install pypixxlib for Python.

Linux

We currently support Ubuntu 20.04 (‘Focal Fossa’) and 22.04 (‘Jammy Jellyfish’) and their equivalents among other Linux distributions. Note that our testing is primarily done with Ubuntu and we cannot guarantee full compatibility with other Linux distributions. For more details, please contact support@vpixx.com.

LabMaestro Software Suite will only work using XSERVER and not Wayland.

To install VPixx device drivers and software tools on Linux, please follow these steps:

  1. Download the Debian package (.deb) file from the provided link.

  2. Open a terminal and navigate to the directory where the downloaded .deb file is located.

  3. Install the package using the following command:

    CODE
    sudo dpkg -i [name of file].deb
  4. If you encounter any dependency issues during the installation, you can try resolving them by running the following command:

    CODE
    sudo apt-get -f install
  5. Once the installation is complete, the VPixx software tools will be available. You can find them in the /usr/local/share/VPixx Software Tools/Software Tools.

  6. Install our MATLAB and Python APIs if desired. See install your DATAPixx.mex file for MATLAB and install pypixxlib for Python.
